How often and how much do do you update your site?

Sorry for the previous post I screwed up. Trying again with a poll.

We find the best way to convert and retain members on www.paulmarkhamteens.com is to keep updating with new content. We know a few other very successful sites that do the same. The return cusomers are awesome as well.

So how often do you update and how much?

We put up at least 3 new sets or videos a day. 90 pieces a month helps retention.

Monday thru friday everyday.

I have an idea for your next spam disguised as a business thread

Thread title: What everyones average retention on your sites?

Your post: Paulmarkhamteens average retention is 3 years, we also pay 50$ per signup and 96% revshare... we update 30 times a day and also go to our customers houses and jack them off while they look at our site.. signup today!

every other day

Once per month on both our paysites. 240 total original images per update (sometimes more...never less).

Once per month ? goodbye rebills..

venus 03-24-2006 11:28 PM

not really .... updates dont always translate to cancels ... If you have a live webcam site (amateur site with live cam/chat) people will rebill just for that, or if you have something they do enjoy they will stay for it. Personally I find my members could give a rats ass about pictures for the most part. they like live video chat and video clips.

That will work if you're in a narrow fetish like Silent Knight.

However look at most of the narrow niche sites, do they update so little because they can't afford to or don't need to?

It always depends what you update with and what the surfer joined for.

We update with at least a video a day, even though with the move from hostings we found it tough.

Dagwolf 03-24-2006 11:46 PM

So how long is average member retention?

Since we've never run a mainstream/non-fetish site, obviously I don't have a comparative basis when it comes to rebills. But we get many rebills constantly...and some have been loyal regulars for years. One guy in fact has rebilled almost consistently since 1999 (actually he emailed me the other day with a request, which is how we discovered how long he'd been around).

Exactly. A lot of colleague bdsm/fetish sites update on a monthly basis as well. I've always tended to regard it much like a monthly mag subscription and never felt the need to go with a more frequent update. In 7 years we've never once had a complaint over update scheduling.

Over two months. The plus is they come back after around 4-6 months. This is going to allow me to offer more on rev share.

I can't see why a member of most sites will stay for only one update a week. they can download what you havem then come back in 4 months and for $30 download the 16 pieces you put up.

Paul Markham 03-26-2006 01:24 AM

Bumping it for the Sunday morning crew.

Kellie 03-26-2006 02:16 AM

I update Gia's site everyother day or atleast try to, and she posts in her diary almost everyday, and is a post whore in the forums too and posts pictures of her daily life.

I've always said a themed or micro niched site will convert and retain better than a non themed or main stream site. So the more you theme/niche your site the better you retain. Simply because the surfer has little option but to stay. but you also narrow your appeal.

What I've never seen the financial benefit in is content that is exclusive in that this is the only place you can see this girl on that sofa in this action type exclusive. The sofa, girl, and action can be found on 1000 other sites and the surfer will see what he likes here and move on when he's seen it all.

What we do is shoot content that is slightly better quality and hit the surfer with a lot of it, so he stays longer or comes back sooner. Not every surfer is into crap.

Elli 03-26-2006 10:50 PM

Well on my own site, I have a photo of the day (different for members and nonmembers) and I change the text Sexy THought of the Day daily. I update with a major shoot or video every week.
