Domain name Sale Regrets?
 

No, but I wish I had a crystal ball. I've been horsing around with this here Internet for 11 years and have had some interesting domain experiences:

* I sold NetBusiness.com about 3 years ago for $20,000 to a guy who sold it to Netscape three weeks later for $100,000

* I registered NetVet.com and gave it to a pal who sold it for $10,000.

* I fiddled around with NetBet.com in '96 - '97 for a couple of years and just let it expire.

* 5 years ago I sold WebTraffic.com for $18,000 and had an offer about a month later for $40,000.

* I have GayAdultMarketing.com now and can't even get an offer of $1,000 for it.

* I also have PersianPuppy.com which I bought for a gay adult directory like PersianKitty but nobody can see the potential here and the amount of free publicity.

Oh boy, I was all ready to tell you how quickly the domain market changes. You know, buy (or sell) one year and regret a year later.

I sold a bunch of names just over a year ago and I could have sold them for soooo much more had I sold them today instead. Oh well.

Your examples are definitely tough to swallow. Those were some terrific domain names. The fact that there was an immidiate flip for a significant increase in price is oh, so painful.

There are buyers that would pay 6 figs for NetBet.com or WebTraffic.com.

Ouch, timing is everything. But you can't regret your sales or you'll drive yourself insane.

I know HALCYON has a domain sale regret :)

i did make a few good buys last year. I bought:

www.ThePNN.com for $800.00 (The Porn Niche Network)
www.BoysGoneBi.com - No Cost (several asked me about selling it)
www.PenetrationNation.com - No Cost (Had many offers)

There have been a few others - it is hard to say what a domain is worth.

This is some of the reasons why i hold hold hold, you never know where the internet will be in 5 years, i remember the good ole days when people who used computers were "computer nerds" now everyone and their dog own a computer and is on the internet.

i try to never sell, my collection is growing, selling them for me would be selling out. :winkwink:
