Oh suuuuure my best friend lands a date with this copy machine repairman guy she's been digging and he wants to bring a friend so she's making me go on a blind date with his ass!!!

No pics.. nothing. I'm not feeling too good about this but I have to do this for my friend. I have 24 hours to bail out though.. MAN I'm stupid sometimes!

Oh the bring a friend double date. These never work out for the secondary party (you and the other guy). I suggest getting an easy out if you can. Get a friend to call you with an emergency or go out to somewhere where its easy to escape.

It is a bit of risk RRRed. I am sure you are resourceful and can find away out if you need too. If it is bad, just go to the ladies room and then grab a cab ride home.

A friend is friend, but that doesn't mean you have to do anything special for that blind date. Kinda of a rude setup anyway I think.

The person I've lived with for the last 12-15 years started as a blind date. Exact time hard to figure cause we broke up for awhile and then got back together.

I'm going to have to agree with the guys here - never heard of a guy wanting to bring his guy friend. The good thing though is that you're with your best friend and if they are both looney, you can still have a blast with your friend.

Well it's officially on for tonight so I have to practice "spinning" a brief and misleading answer to what I do for a living and do my toes and I'm sure it will be fine. Me and my g/f are so alike that it will be even more fun if they are lame cuz we'll be holding back the laughter the whole time.

Well he doesn't HAVE TO bring the friend but I guess his friend asked if she had any single friends and the convo got out of control. They figured it would be relaxed and cool to get to know them and them get to know us with the familiarity factor of us knowing each other real well and them knowing each other real well.

Then after dinner if we all want to ditch each other we can or we can go out and have some cocktails and watch a band at the pub or whatever.

We'll see. At least her and the guy know what the other one looks like though. Not that I'm being shallow but that sure helps matters if he doesn't look like a troll. And the fact that he didn't even ask what I looked like concerns me for some reason.

I have a great reason, this just clicked with me a few days ago:

Just you and her on a first date, things may be uncomfortable, sort of like an interview, its hard to relax and be yourself.\

however, if you just ask a girl to bring a few friends and met you and your friends out, then:

1. Your hooking your buddies up
2. the better reason, both groups feel more comfortable, its more relaxed (= increased confidence), home field advantage, you leave your options open for what happens later and its no big deal either way
