Video Editing Recommendations
 
OK first off. I did try the search. It doesn't want to work today.

#2 All I'm looking for is something real basic. Just getting started, I'll try fancy stuff later. Just cheap and basic.

Appreciate any info/help.

I've never used basic editing software, i just started with Premiere. But Ill bump for you to see if anyone else has. Good Luck with the editing.

For bare basic you cant beat windows movie maker

well, what do you want to do?

VirtualDub, Windows movie maker, TMPGenc - all of them free..... in case you want to slice n dice, watermark, convert from one format to another ,insert some consoles etc, these tools should do

sony movie studio its a scaled down version of vegas it will meet your needs and then some

the Ulead.com video editing solutions are great. Easy to use, make very good quality movies and are about $99.

I was going to say iMovie is so easy that a 10 year old could use it ....

sony movie studio is powerful but cheap, you can even edit hd with it .

Mac = iMovie
PC = Movie Maker

Both are easy as fuck to make a pretty good video with.

There are a lot of video task were decided on the videohelp.com - the best part of videohelp website, that you can find the all articles for any task using freeware, shareware or commercial products. For example, you need to encode your DV video to AVI, MPEG-1,2 - simply use their search engine to find the article, software reviews, forum threads etc
