Bringing a Convertible to a Machine Car Wash?

Do you guys do it?

how does the soap and wax effect the soft top of the convertible? does it damage it? or anything like that?

or is it perfectly fine bringing a convertible to a machine (no contact) car wash?

thanks!

wash it yourself you lazy bum!

take it to a detailing shop you monkey!

anyone who would take an m3 to one of those 7 dollar drive through carwashes deserves anything bad that happens to their car

you're going to take a 70,000 dollar car and take it through a 7 dollar car wash?

detailing shop will charge like 30-50 bucks, and they'll actually do a good job

I completely agree with you, and I have a detailing appointment on Tuesday at the local BMW dealership

I just want my car to look clean from the outside until then :thumbsup

as I mentionned, its a little cold outside... what is wrong with machine car washes? my friend takes his X5 there all the time and they clean really well!

is the X5 a convertible ? .... noooooooo... different scenario.

i would suggest checking with your local Authorized BMW Service Center about this matter.... lol

Dude spend the extra money and get it custom washed and detailed. Those car washes will fuck up your paint.

Even better do it yourself. Its good exercise and you know it will come out perfect that way.

Plus you want a bunch of smelly ass sweat dripping guys inside your nice car when they do the interior??? Fuck that.

KRosh 03-24-2006 03:25 PM

Do you have places where they do hand washes?

I have taken my car to many carwashes in LA and they drive it through a machine, not one of the cheap gas stations maachines but a "true carwash" and i have never had any problems

The god damn janky car wash doesnt hurt shit. If you do it all the good damn time for years the huge fans at the end will have torn some of the threads in your top but you can afford a new one every 3 years.

No it's not, and there plenty of indoor hand car wash places that will do it for you u for a few dollars if you're a lazy bum.

fuzebox 03-24-2006 04:20 PM

Good lord, an automatic car wash... I wouldn't even take a civic through one.

Your car is your baby, take care of her... Hand wash yourself, she deserves it.

Hand wash it.
I own a shitty 93 Jimmy 4x4 and still I would never take it to a machine car wash.
only wash by hand.

Morgan 03-24-2006 04:50 PM

i wouldnt wash my worst enemies cars in one of those paint scraping establisments

i was my own cars or hire people to come to my house and do it while i sit there and watch them under my umbrella sipping lemonade!@

JFK 03-24-2006 05:03 PM

I take it tru the car wash, you just have to watch for the rotating brushes on top of the car. Take it to one that does not have one of those:2 cents:
