A neat 'link popularity' idea
It would work like this.. maybe...
Everyone on this board (lurkers as well) make a basic links page of sorts with nothing showing in the browser window but info and a link to their main site.. followed by a few <br>'s .. Then everyone reply to a predetermined topic with a link to their main site; using just one work for linking.. including the href code. Now everyone just copies & pastes the links to their links page, then submit it to the s.e.'s.. If everyone did it, then everyone would have a ton of links back to thier sites. It would be strictly for link popularity for the s.e.'s.. Oh well.. I woke up with it on my mind for some strange reason, so I thought I'd throw it out there. |
Sorry... im confused :eyecrazy

Take 100 people and person #1 puts a large link to their site at the top and puts the other 99 sites below.
Person #2 puts their link at the top and person #1 below etc... In theory each person would have their link listed on 100 sites, and be #1 on one of them. This is a great idea in theory, but always someone fucks it up and doesn't follow the instructions or whatever. I've seen this idea suggested several times but it requires too many people to agree on a plan for it to work. I'd be interested in helping out, but you would need an offical page, cause something like this, cannot be sorted out on a msg board. |

I have developed a way that I am pretty sure will beat google at this, but I've been to lazy to implement it. It will take a lot of work on the part of the person running it, although I am sure a good programmer could automate most of it. |

Your page would have your main page info/link, my page would have mine, etc. .. then we would list all other links below that. This way, the s.e.'s would grab your info when you submitted. Either way, the bottom line is to have lots of links to each person' s site. and you're right, it would be better to have a central point for submitting everyone's link. A simple 2 box submission script would work for that which could update a list for everyone to copy the links source from. Hmm.. maybe I should have gone back to sleep and woke up with somethin else on my mind.. :) |

Sure, that works. But it is dead on arrival at google. |
