Would be for a new system.

Jarmusch 03-23-2006 05:44 PM

That would also depend on what resolution you'd play at and if you make a point to play with all the eye candy and details set to max, and high antialiasing/anisotropy set to high values.

If you want an absolute killer system:
I would say a SLI mobo with any AMD FX cpu, dual 6600+ vid cards, and 2 gigs of ram should do you fine.

For a system just able to play new games decently:
2.0Ghz cpu, 6800 vid card, 1 gig ram

practiceTITOISM 03-23-2006 05:54 PM

Your should have atleast a 2.0 processor, 512 MB RAM, and a 128mb graphics card.

Jarmusch 03-23-2006 05:59 PM

Can you even get a 2.0GHz cpu these days?

Absolute bare minimum these days for current games I'd say a Pentium D 3.0GHz, 1GB ram, X1600XT or a 6600GT.

that doesnt necessarily matter, agp is still fine as long as you got a lot of memory and a decent processor.

best way to know my friend, go buy F.E.A.R. or Half Life 2 or one of the best new PC games graphically and see what the recommended specs are. Then price out what you can do.
