Am I the only one

that doesn't like to post pics of my high-dollar "toys"? I dunno, it just doesn't suit me. I have no problems if someone else wants to do it, but for me it feels a little too much like showing off. Just not my style, I guess.

i dont like to post pics at all they are just plain annoying

VIPimp 03-23-2006 12:43 AM

I kinda feel the same way... but I dont have any high dollar toys to showoff anyways :(

I have a hard time believing that :winkwink:

But if you were being serious, I'm sure that will change soon.

i don't feel the need to come to a forum and brag about my latest purchases , i don't even tell my friends my purchases , just let them see it when they come around next

but its all about the edick factor , makes the poster feel like a big shot and all high and mighty , makes them feel like ppl actually give a fuck about what they brought

EdgeXXX 03-23-2006 01:08 AM

I know what you mean, biftek. I don't know why, maybe it was just the way I was raised, but I hate showing off material possesions. I buy things that make ME happy, not to impress others. When I bought the "big toy" (my car) it was because I set some lofty goals and accomplished them. It was a present to myself. A few years ago I didn't care so much, but now I don't take it out very often anymore because I feel bad about it; makes me feel like I am trying to be a show off or something and it actually makes me feel bad because I know there are other people out there that are just as deserving (if not more) but are not as fortunate. :Oh crap

Yeah... I somehow agree. After all, humility is a timeless virtue. As Blais Pascal once said, "Do you wish people to think well of you? Don't speak well of yourself. "

posting a pic does not translate to showing off. perhaps the poster is just sharing his/her happiness or that sense of achievement.

I agree and usually I don't view it as them showing off; but I have a hard time doing it myself (because I feel like I'm bragging or something).
