Unloaded my truck the other day at our shoot location and thought "FUCK"...thats a lot of stuff to carry on location to every shoot. Am I the only retard who carries this much shit to a photoshoot?

wow dean, that is lots of stuff, i am not that professional yet so i guess i dont have to carry all that around with me.

I've always been anal about being overprepared. I always carry more shit then I'll ever need because I never know what challenges face me on these location shoots. I was discussing this with my photo-assistant a week ago if there was anything in that kit that we arn't using that I can leave in storage instead of bringing it to every shoot and after we thought about it - we use everything that we bring just about every time we shoot. Since my car has only so much space I have been fine tuning what I bring. Also I create travel lists to check off.

Whew...that's quite the pile of gear. Forget payin' the models...I'd invest in a few good sherpas.

I usually carry about a third of that to location shoots, but it depends on the location and requirements of the shoot of course.

Yep - I agree. If I start leaving shit behind, I have less options when shooting. Sometimes I like to shoot with softlight, sometimes hardlight, sometimes with 1 light and sometimes with 6 lights. I love variety and carrying all that shit on location is the price I pay :1orglaugh
