I'm not saying you didn't , and i'm not saying your opinion is wrong.. just making sure other people do some research first.. we kill lots of animals every day , why is this any different ?

I own several vintage fur coats - which I have no problem wearing as it is safe assumption that 95 % of us have at least one animal by-product piece of clothing, whether it be leather, shoes, belt, jacket etc...

However I did sign this petition because of the very cruel way the animals are slaughtered. I don't believe that should stop it - just regulate it.

The petition isn't clear at all even what they want , its juts says most people are opposed to it.

Any barbaric fashion to kill any animal should be banned , but fish don't exactly have a fun time suffocating in a net... neither do young whales..

I think if there are better available methods they should be used/enforced, but bannig the practise is isiotic and dangerous , as it would likely lead to the decimation of certain fish species....

So essentially what your signing is a document saying " i think we should ban something that will likely cause several species of fish to go extinct , all because the babies have cute eyes :)"

Some animals require killing or their numbers will overwhelm the local eco-system. I heard this was the case with the seals.

I know they have this problem in the south with deer.

There's already a bunch of idiot celebrities calling for worldwide boycott of Canadian products over this.

Would be nice if they got behind something worthwhile like helping the homeless or feeding starving kids.

Or donated some of their millions helping them

Personally I prefer whale meat. Seal is just a little too fatty for me.

The seals eat all the fish and then the fishermen start whining..The aboriginals are allowed to hunt as they eat and use everything and can make good money selling their fur..it is gruesome but they are allowed to do it cause "the white man stole all their land"

Its a problem worldwide with humans.
