Raiders sign QB Aaron Brooks
 

he ain't the best, but i would much rather have him out there than weak ass collins. brooks throws a lot of pics, but he can run and should be able to get the ball to moss a lot...:pimp

I think the main problems with collins were mobility and decision making ... at least brooks improves the mobility part

lol yea. i also heard they might still try to draft vince young and it would be an eli manning-type situation where young would come in once brooks fucks up. that would be tight, doubt it's gonna happen though...

i think it helps Oakland overall but still not sure about the playoffs

SG - Wouldn't be the worst thing in the world...qb depth is a weakness atm. I've seen alot of mocks predicting they pick linebacker a.j. hawk ... hopefully thats incorrect. Al has never thought highly of paying dearly for linebackers and i agree with him on that.

Downtime - No matter how you slice it, the playoffs are not part of the picture..even if they improve mightily, they're still in arguably the toughest division in the league.

Triumph - I feel ya... Al is the problem at this time. the raiders will probably wallow in mediocrity until he passes the reins. but hey, everything the raiders have been for the last 40 years (good and bad) has been all about Al. love him or hate him, it's sure been an interesting ride

yea they seem to always make dumbass draft picks. they shoulda just waited to see if they could get young or leinart...:disgust

I can tell you after watching him play for the saints for the last 5 years that he is not going to get you to the playoffs. That was his big knock with the saints. His first year (1/2 year really, he started the last 8 games and went 4 -4 ) they made the playoffs, since then they went 4 years without getting to the playoffs and they had a lot of talent. He always seemed to throw a bad pass, or int when it mattered the most. he also fumbled the ball on average about 2 times a game. He is famous for droping the ball when he cocks back to throw. To top it off he was always laughing and smiling even when he was having a bad game. The thing is he was best his first year when he didn't have the job locked up, once they gave him a big 5 year 40 million dollar type deal, it seemed like he didn't care, he had been paid. He has ZERO leadership.

For a free agent pick it is not a bad pickup, he would make a good backup. He probably plays better off the bench when he is actually trying to prove he is good. If they ever give him a fat contract his play will go down hill quick.

he might have had some trouble in NO, but once he puts on that silver and black jersey he'll feel better already. fresh start...

Did you even read what they wrote about him? It's not his fault he has no offensive line and no running game. Thats like suicide for a QB.

Maybe they'll pick up a decent rookie QB this year... I hate being a Raiders fan. :(

yes i read what they said. He has Randy Moss to throw to, that should even out the fact that their offensive line is questiobable. Culpepper use to just throw it up and Moss would catch it every time.

Brooks sucks, always has always will. And he likes to cry a lot. I wish i could dig up some old after game interviews i am not kidding he would blame everyone else on the team, including the coach why they lost. Nevermind he had like 3 INTS and 2 fumbles, it was never his fault.

Haha hey I don't disagree that the guy sucks balls. But shit look what he has to work with. 45 yards rushing, offensive line gives up 6+ sacks a game, and Randy Moss has openly admitted to dropping passes on purpose because hes not happy. Also I don't know if you have watched many raiders games this year but the offense was waaaay worse without him. :2 cents:

I've seen a few. Could it be worse ? lol. Sure the rest of the team sucks, but he sucks too. He would fuck up a good thing and he isn't going to fix a bad thing.

I bet they draft a rookie QB in the first round next year. They will either cut brooks and pick up a good vet qb as a backup or mentor for the new draft choice or keep brooks to be the backup/mentor. I hope they don't keep him to help mold the new QB. He is not a team player and will only fuck up the new QB, and I don't think he will take well to helping someone replace him. Maybe Troy Smith is what they need. It will be a toss up between Lions and Raiders who will get him.

best bet is to draft Smith, cut brooks and pickup a Bledsoe or someone like that as a backup / mentor.

they need a brand new offensive line, those guys are horrible.

Moss should get the hell out of there and salvage his career...
