Fair Price for MultiHomed Bandwidth?
OK, what is a fair price for virtual hosting on muti-homed service using Verio, Level 3, Genuity, and Cogent. I need to figure out pricing.
A couple things about thse multi-homed service is #1 It is not a backup service, it uses all providers #2 Traffic takes best route depending on, location, congestion, hops. #3 Data is server off a cluster, not a single server. #4 Its a 100% uptime guarantee. Let me know what a good per gig price is? Thanks for your input. Thanks, Jason |
I have no ideal, but here's my Verio Rep's
info.... if he's still there have not talked to him in awhile... [email protected] Roman Sofianos |
Usually your overhead will justify the price per gig. In your business plan you should determine what your overhead will be at different points in your growth period. Capacity planning is critical in the hosting business.

free jason!
fuck man how many mbps u doing now? 800 - 900? |
Around $1 per GB sounds fair I think.
Not many users can use clusters though. Traffic trade scripts wont work that well with it since the difference in stats. People that hos so important things that need a multihomed system is probably not interested in sharing their server with anyone else. Go for dedicated multihomed servers instead. |
Depends on the usage. $0.50 - $1.00 a gig
