Warning: Business thread

As many of you know, one of my ventures is PRadult, a press release service that allows you to target adult webmasters and surfers!

Unlike most press release services we allow you to include html for such things as anchor text and strong tags to assist you in making your press release "search engine friendly."

The base service is free, which includes a search engine friendly permalink, as well as keyword and description meta tags. If you register to the service and submit your press release directly to the system, you can include your own anchor text and strong tags, however, if you are not sure how to include these, we will optimize your press release for a minimal fee.

We also offer premium features, such as:

Press Release Writing
Press Release Editing
Logo Upgrade (Up to 250×250 non model logo).

Full details can be found at http://www.pradult.com/submit-pr/

Now to the point of this thread.

It is no secret that we created PRadult to emulate PRWEB, which is pretty much the mainstream industry standard for press release services. They have recently added a podcast feature which I believe has a lot of potential.

My question to you is this: If we were to offer this as a premium feature to our press release service, would you be inclined to try it out, taking into consideration that you would be able to target surfers as well as webmasters?

aimeesweet 03-22-2006 02:07 PM

I'd be interested to see how it works...

G-Rotica 03-22-2006 02:08 PM

Hell, I'd try anything for an edge.

We would probably do it the same as they do here. Essentially, we would do a telephone interview, giving you leading questions that would allow you to spam yuor product/service/site.

Then a link to it would be included with your press release, as well as an XML feed (I believe that is how that part is done, have to look into that part more).

hey man what is the premium member fees. if i paid for something i would be much more inclined to actually make sure that it goes higher on my priority list. sometimes i'm so busy that things just slip by, but for me, by paying for something i guarantee to myself that i will actually allot time and get it done.

MediaGuy 03-22-2006 02:22 PM

Hey baddog - it's definitely a plus - that you'd call and do the questions and generate an rss (yes xml is how you do that :) ).

Right now podcasting is limited but webmaster audiences are also - we ain't the vast endless resource the consumer is - but when that hits the consumer end, i'll work on my consumer podcast a little bit harder.

Plus if your xml feed isn't java encrusted or some other similarly SE unfriendly format, it can also give you value on that level.

Podcasting to the adult webmaster; sweet.

We would definitely make it as SE friendly as possible, that is always our #1 priority.

This is the first time we have ever used their podcast feature, and I have already received one phone call and two emails as a direct result of today's press release, as well as some outstanding SERP's on Google and Yahoo news. Whether the SERP's are a direct result of the podcast feature I am not sure, but it sure didn't hurt.

klixxxgirl 03-22-2006 04:05 PM

great idea, baddog!... you need to rss this baby so webmasters could put it on their sites. :thumbsup Example: Klixxx has a syndication page where you can choose your rss feeds or javascript plug-in.

We do. http://www.pradult.com/category-feeds/

You can pick all the feeds, or break it down by niche.

I think it might take a little while for this type of promotion to take off, and there would need to be some tweaking to the format to make it attractive, but....... any new way of getting info out there is worth a shot. Done the right way, this could be a very effective means of getting the word out.

PRWEB tells me that their podcasts are being well received, that they have businessmen that listen to their podcasts at the airport (for example) while they wait for their flights.

We will be sure to make it a very affordable option, especially considering it is something new.

Thank you for your input.

Great idea Baddog :thumbsup

Depends on what the cost of the podcast release would be. Are you talking about making it a separate charge or rolling it into a package deal. Either way, I think it's a very creative and beneficial idea.

s9ann0 03-22-2006 05:03 PM

whats a podcast?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Podcast

Podcasting is the distribution of audio or video files, such as radio programs or music videos, over the Internet using either RSS or Atom syndication for listening on mobile devices and personal computers. A podcast is a web feed of audio or video files placed on the Internet for anyone to download or subscribe. Podcasters' websites also may offer direct download of their files, but the subscription feed of automatically delivered new content is what distinguishes a podcast from a simple download or real-time streaming (see below). Usually, the podcast features one type of "show" with new episodes either sporadically or at planned intervals such as daily, weekly, etc. Besides that there are podcast networks that feature multiple shows on the same feed.

Podcasting's essence is about creating content (audio or video) for an audience that wants to listen when they want, where they want, and how they want.

I suspect we would make it so you could purchase it separately and would combine it with our Gold Package, described above.
