Question for blog experts
 

Does any blogging (or tech) freak know which of the following blog systems is the most stable and fastest one when it comes to tons of visitors a day?

Wordpress
Serendipity
Textpattern

... and does anybody here run a blog with Serendipity or Textpattern?

I guess you need a custom coded one or a optimized version of those software package when you really want to handle tons of hits.
Or just buy a some cheap servers and build a cluster. :upsidedow

did you code thumblogger yourself?

I use wordpress, and have heard by many that it becomes a HOG. I have not had any issues, but I am only at about 15k a month uniques.

wordpress imho is the most reliable. you'll have to do some server tweaks at some point but it should be able to handle 40k+ no problems

It's not independant because it's from the textpattern homepage but they claim that their system is 2-3 times faster than wordpress
