That is one of the coolest things I've seen. I wonder how long it took them to build that whole setup.

Very intense.

TreasureBucks 03-21-2006 11:02 AM

now that was a nice setup :)

wonder how they found out???

someone must have gotten sloppy. Wow, what a high tech setup to get sloppy with.

JFK 03-21-2006 11:02 AM

That is the most professional set up I have ever seen :thumbsup Too bad someone ratted them out:mad:

SmokeyTheBear 03-21-2006 11:10 AM

nice setup too bad they dont know how to grow pot properly .. those plants look sick & unhealthy

And as clever as it is , setting up hydro is easy not getting caught is the hard part..

#1 mistake - stealing hydro

#2 mistake - to much time in one place

#3 too much time trying to be clever

Z 03-21-2006 11:18 AM

I want that house. That fuckin' ROCKS!

GlydeGirl 03-21-2006 11:23 AM

Wow... what a thorough set-up!

Right before the harvest, that's supposed to happen. Energy has to go into growth of buds, not growth (or much maintenance) of leaves. Aside from that, the more the plant "suffers" during the final stages before harvest, the higher the THC content tends to get.

The shape of the plants (tall & slim rather than wide & full) is probably just the result of the strain used. In my experience (all in the past, of course), a strain like Purple Power produced short, full plants (about a meter high, equally wide, grown indoors), while one like Northern Lights/Skunk produced thin, tall plants (up to 3 meters grown outdoors).

Wonder what gave them away.... and I wonder how they got that shit built without anyone noticing tons of earth and rock coming out of there in dumptrucks...

It would be pretty goddamn hard to hide an electric bill like that.

I read in another article that they tapped right off the city main. No way the electric comapny could tell. Someone must have gotten pissed about something and turned them in.

biftek 03-21-2006 01:46 PM

easier enough to tap into power , just need to get the power before it hits the meter at your house , easy done

the size of the operation is what gave it away , the power consumption would be huge , so even if they did bypass the meter , the power company would be able to see that the power loss was above average , then all they need to do is come inspect the area and pin point where the draw is coming from

Doctor Dre 03-21-2006 01:49 PM

That's a great setup. Here some guys got busted in a much much much bigger grow house under the soil. Was a tons of containers fixed to each other. That's still fuckign awesome

wrong , take a closer look. poor reflectors , no shielding and lights are too far away , thats why the plants look weak , look at the grow stage , the flourescents are like 4 ft away haha and no shielding , what a waste.

Pot is a "weed" its easier than shit to grow.. anyone with some equipment and electricity can grow indoors, it takes some basic skills to do it properly..

Granted #1 they were stealing electricity , so you can be a tad wastefull with that , #2 the lights might be pulled up higher so the cops can take the photo's with a nicer view, i notice they are all on chains and perhpas even a tracking system but still , the plants look terrible.

Yeah, you're right. I took a closer look, and it does look pretty bad.

The cops probably removed the shielding and took up the lighting, though, and it's likely that in the time leading up to the pictures water was cut off. Still, it doesn't look good.

Vitasoy 03-22-2006 01:31 AM

Yea pretty darn cool, saw the pics a while back
