Does anyone have the Sony HDR-HC1?

I have been looking into going High Def and was wondering if anyone has this camera and has any input? I realize that the HDR-FX1 would obviously be much better but, im just a individual solo site at the moment and really can not justify purchasing the HDR-FX1 right now. So, I thought I would see if anyone owns this one and has had any luck with it. Thanks so much In advance.

Hugs,
Jen

I would shell out the extra cash for the FX1 if I were you. 1CCD vs 3CCD makes a big difference in
image quality.

Even if you can't afford right now to make the jump to the FX1, I'm suggest spending the same money on a lesser camera, but still one a 3 CCD camera, rather than the HC1 with only 1 CCD, but liek HDAdult said, if you can swing it, the FX1 is the way to go, it's definitely been worth the money to us.

P.S. Oh snap you got my 1,000th post, oh well so much for the big fanfare.. :1orglaugh :1orglaugh

I have a friend who bought it last week and He is sending it back to the store. He said the quality is just not there.

I bought one only because it was small and I needed something quick from best buy to put in a racecar with decent quality so we could watch the playback of the race to improve driver skills. It wasnt a bad little camera and basically point and shoot. When purchasing a new camera I like to try to borrow one or rent for a few days with indoor/outdoor shots under varied lighting. Then digitize the demo tapes into your editor and see what you got work with. What the picture quality is, how easy it is to edit, handles compositing and ultimatley looks after compression. Either way good luck!
You can allways save up for HDCAM or a Varicam :thumbsup
