But as far as I know, radar detectors are legal here.

Not sure - but there are those radar cameras on the 101 now through Scottsdale. I believe they mail you a ticket if you go 76 or higher...

Yes radar detectors are legal but you have to watch for the speeding ticket camera's on the streets and freeways (works like a red light camera).
