Yes, this is an industry that SAYS it reveres the women (by paying them more than the guys, etc.). However, in the end, a fat ugly guy can still be a superstar after (what is it?) 20 or 25 years?, whereas you'd be hard pressed to find a girl (even a damned pretty one) who's still in demand after 5. The guys have lasting power in more ways than one. The women who stay in the biz usually go behind the camera or into production or start their own website. Most of 'em seemingly stop getting calls after a year or two as far as being lead actresses.
