What to do in Salt Lake City?
 

We are coming to Salt Lake City in June for the AMA Motorcycle races, and were thinking of staying a few extra days... if there is something to do. We've never been, so can someone let us know if it's worth it. :helpme

Going to Wyoming is nice

I hear that they have a lot of booze, strip clubs, and drugs there.

No one has any specifics on where to go or what to do? I guess I won't book plane tickets for any extra days... don't want to be bored out of my mind.

well I hear there is a nice morman museum :)

You could go up to Park City it's pretty cool there... though the only time I'd make a pleasure stop in Salt Lake is for Sundance and some snowboarding :)

The only hot spot in WY, the Howard Johnson's in Evanston has a lounge called the Legal Tender. We used to make a point to stop there on Staurday nights on the way to Sturgis.

We called it Tender Vittles because of all the college girls that would come over from SLC.

The Salt Flats are cool to run.... test the top speed of your rental car!

The Great Salt Lake is cool to go for a dip in... cool to float around on, anyone can float due to the high salt content.

The Mormon Church is there so you can pickup a second wife :winkwink:

June..hmm.. never been up there in the Summer.. but made it twice this winter for kickass skiing and snomobiling...

there is a possibility that Alta will have a glacier open for some summer skiing or boarding.. but just depends on the sun... and temps.. they are getting dumped on again right now.. so they could very well have some nice summer conditions...

Strip clubs there suck ass.. don't even waste your time.. its a three foot rule and its enforced.. there is a cool "locals bar" called "port o call" downtown..
it looks small from the front.. but has a huge basement full of pooltables and the upstairs is a pretty big danceclub... main floor has a live band.. place was insane packed.. with some pretty decent eye candy...

100 miles across the salt flats you can hit "wendover, Nv".. for some gambling and strip clubs... takes about 1.5 hours or less.. to get there.. you can haul ass.. but it is patrolled pretty heavily by cops...

other than that.. it really is a shitty nightlife.. Park City can be decent if there is something going on...
