Supplies are down right now because of a lot of refinery maintainence going on in the gulf coast where the hurricanes went in.

Supply goes down, prices go up.

Also a lot of speculators driving up the price because of the Iran situation.

Gas company collusion.

They knew it'd be suspicious if they jacked the prices at the start of March break - so the devious schemers in their price manipulation think-tanks came up with the idea of jacking it midway through the break and catch all the travelers on the way home with higher prices.

Its simple, really.
