Search - Why is it so fucked up
 

Can someone help me understand how and why a top notch place like GFY can't get a coder to build a search feature that works more than 3 or 4 days without fucking up?

It's to save on bandwidth - cheapskates..

With the amount of Crown Royal I am forced to drink as a result of this broken search I could fund a rebuild project.

CASE A:
1. You need an info
2. You search for it (1 page view generated)
3. You read it (1 page view generated)
4. You log off

CASE B:
1. You need an info
2. You try to search for it (1 page view generated)
3. Step 2 fails, so you make up thread #2017 about this particular topic, which makes 12 people step in just to say how fucked you are to post ANOTHER thread about it, 18 people to say SEE SIG, 27 people to call them sigwhores etc. etc. (countless page views generated, sponsors get a hard-on).
4. Eventually you realise you didn't get any useful information whatsoever, so you go to step 2.

Great that cleard it right up you fucking sig whore. :)
