Wich holiday isn't pointless ... hell except birdthdays and new year (wich are pretty much pointless anyways), I don't see many exceptions.

Um, if a parade is being thrown to celebrate St. Patrick's day, why would gays think they should have the right to march in it and call attention to their own agenda?

If my son is having a birthday party, should I let the neighbor kid come over and celebrate something else entirely unrelated to my son's party?

I understand your point, but usually parades are made up of all sorts of organizations with many seperate "agenda's" , all showing their support for st patricks day

if you look on the parade homepage you can clearly see the different organizations all with their own agendas ( including the irish gay and lesbians)
