yeah, the satellite companies came down real hard on this the past few years...

satellite dishes aren't against the law. just illegal ones that rip off direct tv and shit

It wasn't the U.S. companies that complained; they were making money off all the Canadians who paid them every month. It was the Canadian providers who complained that they were losing customers to the 'grey market' dishes. This just means that if you don't know how to program your own card then you better be prepared to hand over a lot more $$$$$$ for it to be done then you would have a week ago.

The government isn't going after people with dishes; their going to go after the people who provide the 'hacked cards' and the equipment to do it.

Yeah, that's what the article is about. Crackdown on dealers. Users don't have anything to do with that. As soon as they eliminate the dealers, the illegal distribution will stop. (Although I think it'll never happen)

Well, if you live in Toronto or GTA, just open Star Classifieds in the saturday Toronto Star paper and you'll see a lot of ads. They also have an online site - www.starclassifieds.com
