May be worth getting a mac now.

Romeo GaySearch4Sex 03-18-2006 05:31 AM

darksoul 03-18-2006 05:51 AM

whats up dud! you're busy lately ?
it is me or you aint posting much news lately.
Dont give up!

Gerco 03-18-2006 06:27 AM

why go to all the bother? Get a cheap PC, AND a mac if you have to, what can the more expensive mac do than a cheaper PC can't.

Fucked Beyond Repair 03-18-2006 07:37 AM

I think it mostly will be used for playing PC games on Macs, can't see any other reason why a Mac owner would want to run Windows.

Exactly. For years, Mac users have been able to install Windows XP on their machines using a program called "Virtual PC". You buy the program, receive a copy of Windows XP, and then have one computer with two OS's on it.

Why is this exciting news?

Have to say its just the challenge. years ago it was fun (for a geek) to see how many OS' I could boot on one machine. I Got fresbsd, BeOS, Suse linux and NT 4 to boot on a 400 Mhz dell and i got mac 8, BeOS and, yellow dog and nt running on virtual pc. hoestly now I can do anything i want on any OS. The Mac OS is cool in lots of ways, but it doesn't have the huge advantage in runing software I use anymore. In the 90's when I was a photoshop artist Mac was the only way to go. As a network guy though, there are a lot more tools on the pc. If you are a pc guy thinkin "i hate macs" rmemberthat at one time windows could only use 8 megs of ram, while a mac I had easily addressed 256. Of course a 64 meg stick cost 4 grand back then. Macs having given up the inherent floating point advantage of the motorola/ibm processor is sad, but at todays higher clock speeds, who cares. I build my own machines, and its way cheaper to build acustom pc. I would think it would be a etter contest to see if you could boot the Mac OS natively on a pc.

Doctor Dre 03-18-2006 01:22 PM

Yep. I'd rather just stick to paying 10 times to much for a POS Mac.

I used to have 12 operating systems booting from 3 hard disks on the same PC, just for fun. Now I use Virtual PC with about 20 virtual machines

DesignWise 03-18-2006 02:39 PM
