System of a Down does a cover of Snow Blind thats pretty sweet. Honestly there's a shitload of great Black Sabbath covers. I think its Rob Halford who does The Wizard. White Zombie does Children of the Grave. Corrosion of Conformity does Lord of this World. Faith No More does War Pigs. Primus (featuring Ozzy) does NIB.
Coal Chamber (featuring Ozzy) has a song called Shock the Monkey, which is a cover, thats kind of fun. Deftones does a cover of Simple Man which is pretty damn good (Simple Man is one of my favorite songs.) |
Me First and The Gimme Gimme's - Different Drum
|
I was just looking over the list above. What I found interesting was how many true cover songs I never realized were actual cover songs. Its funny because the band who covered them is typically given credit for the song these days. Another thing I noticed is how many big cover songs of the '60s were covered just one year after the initial release yet in another style of music, you don't really see that these days.

Might be tough to find but is is a great cover. |
I don't think any cover can really touch the sublime beauty of "Hurt" by Johnny Cash. Though "Hallelujah" by John Cale was the absolutle forerunner until that.
