What to do against those damn movie hotlinkers?
I know this has been discussed many times but I'm getting really annoyed with these assholes now.

xxxforum4u.com 40000 downloads
That is over 100gigs in 3 days.
A script that changes the name of the movies doesn't work since some sites use bots that delete your posts if you made any changes on your gallery.
With htaccess you can not do much since they can still download your movies using "right click save target as".
It seems that there are new hotlink forums everyday and it is like impossible to deal with them anymore.
Some don't answer mail some don't have a working mail etc.
Anybody any sugestions?

Time to get even. Change all your movies to a dialer... Like a mean ass vicious dialer. Let them download that for awhile.

How about adding the sites you allow to hotlink your videos in your htaccess file - all others will be forwarded to another page...?
Maybe even adding your movies behind a password protected area wich only your chosen sites can access?

I've had several sleazy webmasters hotlink my photos/galleries/guest cam etc and by modifying my htaccess I pretty much stopped them cold :)

Well this is not from a members area.
It is from our galleries.
I'm now looking into something that uses cookies but you have to insert a piece of javascript in the code of your gallery and I bet there are TGP's that use scripts that will block any gallery using javascript.

so, do not submit to them. sounds easy enough to me

Alot of scripts block galleries with js
