Will US banks accept a check torn in 2?
In my enthusiasm to open the post this morning, I accidently tore a check from Epoch into 2 peices.
Will US banks accept a check if it is sellotaped together ? |
Most should. Paperclip a note to it saying what happened. Actually a check should say void on both parts before it should be totally refused. We've torn checks a few times and not had any problems. :)

As long as there are no pieces missing, it's ok. I got a check once, but it had a little piece that was torn missing, the bank did not accept it.

Tell us what bank that is want to make sure we do not deal with them.

Great, thanks, saves me trying to get another from Epoch which in the past has been notoriously dificult.
:) |
Er, I always thought it was as long as the routing/account numbers were intact..

sometimes if some security features are missing they might not accept it, i guess if you have the whole check that'll do. i tore up a check once too and it was accepted.
