What's going on with Verotel?

As some people have seen, there was an issue with NSF checks bein sent out. I wasn't the only webmaster to receive one. This was back in January.

After a week, they emailed me to see what bank fees were incurred. I told them that it was a $15 fee, and then they told me that they wanted a fax of the bank fees to prove that I was really charged $15. Not only is this a hassle as I do not have a fax setup at this house, but it would also be to a fax to an international number... This would pretty much cancel out the $15 between fees and my time wasted. No big deal. I'm just bitter that they made the error, they want me to do the extra work, and they do not believe that I have a small $15 fee. Most companies would cover any reasonable fee just to compensate for the hassle, no questions asked.

Next: Feb 10th rolls around and they send an email saying that the check would be going out. Ok... great.

Yesterday: I look at the date and say "I wonder where that check is.. it never came!". I shot them an email and get this:

Hi,

We are sending the check again as soon as possible. Can you please
confirm that the address in your Control center > My Profile > Company
information, is in fact the correct address?

I'm sorry for the inconvenience.

What is going on here? I've seen this pattern previously with WSB, and I don't like it. Has anybody else seen these issues? :helpme

Sounds aggravating, for sure. Haven't had a similiar experience myself, fortunately.

Usually when I encounter a billing issue, I prefer calling voice rather than relying on email exchanges to get things solved. I hate waiting for people to get around to checkin' and replying to email...and usually it causes more problems than it solves.

If you call them, inform them of the hassles you've had, the costs they incurred...and nicely ask them if they'll compensate everything to you. But be polite and business-like.

Nothing but trouble. Used them LONG ago and left them LONG ago. They make us dutchies look bad.

They apologized for the inconvenience. What more do you want? Good service?

Sooooo unreasonable. :1orglaugh

Ya... How dare me! :1orglaugh

Silent.. The amount is so small, that it's not worth my time to be on the phone. it's more of the principle than anything. The part that really gets me is that I was told the check would be mailed on Feb 10th... A month plus I am told that the check will be sent "soon"? That is far from professional, and I doubt I will be sending any future business their way.
