I am Starting Kick Boxing Today!

I couldn't find a Brazilian jiu jitsu instructor in my area....but, I did find a kick boxing instructor who also teaches grappling and submission techniques and stuff.

I start today. I'M SO EXCITED!

Elli 03-16-2006 10:17 AM

That's awesome Raven! I started kickboxing in August and am still going twice a week! Too much fun :)

Warren 03-16-2006 10:37 AM

What is it with girls and kick boxing?, my wife just left with her friend half an hour ago to do this, should I be concerned :1orglaugh

Raven 03-16-2006 11:01 AM

Elli, I'm glad to hear you say that.....I had some reservations about it, when my MMA friend told me I was too short and that kickboxing would serve no purpose for me in real life....but, I figure it's great cardio and let's me hit and kick without actually doing it in real time.

Warren. In a word? Yes. LOL

I love Kick boxing..but havent done it in over 5 years. Does this mean next time I see your "teeny tiny" ass you are going to drop kick me to the floor and into submission?

ps. I think you need to do some hiking with me this summer..I have acquired lots of extra gear

Raven 03-16-2006 11:41 AM

That turn you on, Silent Knight? Grappling and submission? :)

Betty? With those magnificent breasts of yours, you can count on it, although I highly doubt if I'd take the chance of kicking your ass, since I KNOW you can kick mine!

Hiking with you sounds awesome. Hopefully, we can arrange it.

I was doing a mix of MuyThai and Kickboxing of the last 6 months... lost 22 pounds but never felt better... (20 more to go to were I want to be).
:thumbsup

I just got back from class. Nobody else showed up, since it's spring break, so I had a private class with the instructor! We worked on some aikido at the end, which was very cool.

Kickboxing is a killer cardio workout and also great for strength and flexibility. You'll have a blast, Raven. :)

Anthony 03-16-2006 12:21 PM

I am so looking forward to rolling with Raven and Elli next show!!!

LittleSassy 03-16-2006 12:34 PM

i miss my classes in kickboxing...:( i started last summer but after i got a job,got conflicts on my sched. damn i need to go back...

Raven 03-16-2006 12:50 PM

milan: I don't know much about muy thai....congrats on the weight loss...I'm down to my last ten pounds and my trainer says I'm ready to roll on something other than the treadmill and elliptical. So far, I've lost sixty pounds.....the last ten is a bitch..

Don't know much about aikido, either, Elli...but your excitement is contagious....think we can take on Anthony at the next show? LOL

Anthony: We should get an octagon set up or a cage and take bets....LOL

Well, Little Sassy....I'll let you know after I get back from my first lesson in humility, lack of coordination, and the inability to punch and kick...should be quite amusing for all those who get to see me attempt to look graceful where there is no grace. :)
I hope you can get back into it....I'm really psyched.

tristan_D 03-16-2006 07:31 PM

we'd love to see you do some kick boxing moves in the future

Raven 03-16-2006 07:50 PM

Gotta say it was awesome. Putting on those gloves gives a sense of power....neophyte that I am, it's going to take a while to learn the moves; but, man, it was fun.
