As soon as our cat takes a shit, we remove it from the litter box right away with the poop scoop. The smell is so bad, you can't just leave it...

We use the 'crystal' litter - doesn't seem to stink as much and I'm allergic to regular litter.

I have an easy answer to that problem -- install a cat door and make your cat poop in the garden. No need to worry about cat shit smell in your house, no litter boxes to clean, no need to spend your hard-earned cash on kitty litter. It works like a charm for me!

i use to hate the smell too back in Montreal when i had a cat. it was too cold to open a window and with all the spay i use to use it took like 20 minutes for the smell to be totally out.
