That is a very common occurance in Japan, happens so much they actually have warning signs on the trains about it. I agree with Mask, next time and I hope there is not one, you should bring it to everyone's attention and make a big deal about it. During college years I happened to be in a bus with a friend of mine one day. We were standing (not sitting) and there was a man between us. This guy started coming closer to my friend and touching him all the time trying to make it look by accident and due to bus movement. Of course it was very obvious after a while. Funny part? My friend didn't react; neither I (it's not like it was my ass). When we got out of the bus we had a convo something like:

me> that guy was rubbing your ass LOL
him> you think so? I was almost sure, but didn't know what to do
me> ok FAG :)

I'm sorry but if you see something like that and don't say anything, it's either you know your friend is a Fag or you enjoy that type of accidental foreplay between others. If it was me, someone would have been choked really bad on that bus. But that's just me!

It's already too late once the guy has grabbed you. You're right in that people often won't help, but just by being announcing what happened and involving the other people around you in the situation, the guy won't pull the same stunt for a little while.

Heck, you might even get lucky and somebody will point a finger at the guy who did it. Then either you can go up and settle the situation while everyone else looks on or you can recruit a couple of men to rough the guy up a bit.

Either way, women have to speak up when bullshit like this happens!

It happened to me few years ago on a bus and I felt very embaressed. I was actually about fourteen and I did not know what to do so I runed out. And then I was talking to some people about it and someone told me to look at the person who did it, look him or her into eyes and don´t say enything, because there are so used to all the root things what people tell them or screamings atc. But they don´t expect something quiet and that is much worse for them. But this is when you know who was it. If I did not know, I would probably run away again, because it´s really very strange feeling.

learn to speak english. the guy did it because he knew you wouldn't know how to tell a police officer what happened.
