Seems like a really low number

I must admit I was thinking the same thing :2 cents:

I don't think it includes married couples who are separated (as in "legally separated")

I think they mean couples who are married and together in every way except they choose not to live together.

Personally I don't know any people like this, so maybe the number really is that low?

The figure is taken from this article - maybe it's just in the US?
