Went to a Google Press Conference On Campus Today

Talk about interesting, Google is moving into Waterloo and actively seeking new recruits from the local university here. They already hired 5 people and looking for 17 more people, mostly in the engineering and CS departments. Was very interesting to say the least to talk to some of their R&D people. Some very interesting projects coming up in the next 2-3 months. Not to mention they've been on a buying frenzy the last few weeks.

I wish I had any clue on how SE's work.
I have #2 keyword for a very very very good and relevant finnish website of mine, had it for years..but I'd like to make sure it keeps up there. I also wish I knew more about ppc. I envy you. All I know is how to make 1:500 on tgp traffic. :(

Did they mention when they plan to fix their search engine?

Their results are so bad I've been using MSN for the past 2 weeks

Of all things, they actually didn't have anything good to say about MSN's new search engine and they brushed off their new live.com as though it wasn't a threat to their business. Granted, a clear majority of the crowd (1600 students) doesn't really like Microsoft so it could have simply been a comment addressed to this specific crowd.

What interesting projects are coming out?

They would be wise to focus at least SOME of their energy on "dancing with the one that brought them". Their results are definitely not what they were, not as relevant as they used to be, and I can count on getting almost nothing but spammy pages in the organic results pages these days.

Cool, I hope they open up some weekend adwords support.

Everybody yells how irrelevant google is now but I use it daily. If I'm looking for mickey mouse pictures for instance guess what I find? MICKEY MOUSE PICTURES. What the hell are you all having so much trouble finding with google? I use it for damn near everything.

For me personally, I've never asked for one, but I've called and spoken to people before.

I'm sure as a company, PR/AE is pretty well taken care of.

The best results are normally in the 2nd - 3rd page ... but it's still a good SE . I like it better then msn personally. Msn index a lot of new pages but the quality is better at google I find
