WEBCAMS.COM launches revshare

We have launched revenue sharing for affiliates. It is not 100% 'user-friendly' yet in the affiliate area yet (it will be in the next few hours but I wanted to go ahead and announce it). Read below for instructions on using it:
  • Earn 20% of customer site spending for life of the member
  • Earn 60% of customer membership transactions ($4.99 trial, recurring, etc) for life of the member
  • Referring affiliate is tracked in the database so you don't have to worry about cookies being cleared, etc

So you have two options:
  1. Sell the lifetime membership and never worry about the customer cancelling and receive 20% recurring even if the member comes back 5 years later to spend money. If the customer choses the VIP option you will earn 60% of the $9.98 VIP membership fee as well.
  2. Sell the monthly membership and earn 60% recurring until they cancel PLUS 20% of any money they might spend in premium chat on the site

Webcams.com is very liberal with customer spending limits. It is not uncommon to get a customer who spends $2k+/month. Revshare is a good option for some. However, we must mention that you will not make a lot of money on every sale so don't be disappointed if you get 10 sales that don't spend any money. Your 11th sale might spend $2k to make up for the previous 10.

We still offer great PER SIGN UP rates where you get paid UPON APPROVAL (not after they buy time, etc)

To use RevShare:

If you can wait a few hours, you will be able to select Revshare from the linking codes :) Otherwise, you add &rev=1 to your linking code BEFORE the _u= value. For example:
Code:

http://www.webcams.com/link.php?reseller=webcams&rev=1&_u=/index.php?page=join

Oh, I should also mention, if you are not aware, for lifetime members, premium chat is billed PER MINUTE with no need to purchase site credit or anything like that

So if a customer spends 100 minutes in the chatroom, he will simply be billed $300. This is much better than requiring the customer to buy site credit or make a deposit

fuzebox 03-14-2006 11:05 PM

Nice :thumbsup

I'm a little fuzzy though...

Do you choose between 20% on minutes or 60% on VIP? Or can you be paid out on both from the same linkcode?

John Marco 03-14-2006 11:14 PM

You are paid on BOTH. Membership transactions are paid at 60% and in site spending is paid at 20%

For example:

Customer signs up for a recurring membership at $39.98 per month. You earn 60% on this. The same customer decides he wants to go into premium chat and buys $100 worth of time. You are paid 20% on this from the same customer.

Example 2:

Customer signs up for free lifetime membership but decides he wants to include the $9.98 per month VIP option. You are paid 60% of all his $9.98 VIP membership fees and 20% of any money he spends in per minute chat

You can choose which pricing option the customer sees in your linking code.

Thanks, much more clear now :)

Very nice John!!! :thumbsup

Very good yet another revshare that won't make any money for affiliates. I'll stick with pps on free joins. Good luck though. I cant believe surfers would pay money to join a webcam site in 2006. :1orglaugh

Feel free to sell our free lifetime per sign up

A lot of surfers still pay money to join, though... we spend a lot on Google and Overture selling the paid joins and always do very well daily with our own traffic, not to mention all of our affiliates with very good covnresation ratios :)

Thanks for the feedback guys. A good idea is to mix your traffic between our PER SIGN UP and our REVSHARE to diversify. Members can come back for years and spend money, but of course we offer 60% recurring on the memberships too.

John Marco 03-16-2006 10:20 AM

How much will you earn with revshare?

We analyzed figures from different traffic sources today to determine how much an affiliate would earn off of revshare as opposed to per sign up, for those who are interested in reasonable expectations. These figures are over a 3 month period. Clearly, you will have recurring members and regular lifetime members who will spend money after this point, and revshare is all about long term.

You can expect about 2% of your members to NEVER cancel, giving you recurring revenue until their card expires, so you have to factor that in if you sell recurring. We also email lifetime customers when their cards expire asking them to update the expiration date, so this prevents some attrition.

The below figures are the affiliate's share of total spending, which is 60% of membership total and 20% of site spending total.

Membership Revenue: MR, Site Spending: SS

SE Traffic:
Trial Option: MR: $30, SS: $12, Total $45
Lifetime Option: MR: $5, SS: $20, Total $25

TGP Traffic:
Trial Option: MR: $15, SS: $12, Total $27
Lifetime Option: MR: $3, SS: $15, Total $18

Member's Area Traffic:
Trial Option: MR: $32, SS: $15, Total $47
Lifetime Option: MR: $5, SS: $22, Total $27

Blog traffic isn't analyzed fully but it is somewhere in between the SE and TGP.

Please keep in mind this is an average for 1000's of sales. If you only send a sale every few days it is a possibility that your customers may never spend any money and alternatively, you could get lucky and get one huge whale who spends $10k's. Please be mindful of this when choosing our rev share option. For some, PPS might be a better choice.

John Marco 03-16-2006 10:28 AM

Correction:

SE trial site spending is $15 per sale, not $12 as mentioned above. Typo :)

Markit 03-16-2006 12:06 PM

very nice

BUMP

These guys rock :) more than 1 way of making cash.

Terry 03-16-2006 01:32 PM

Very nice John!

John Marco 03-16-2006 09:35 PM

Thanks guys. We have received positive response from affiliates. Revshare stats tracking is fully functional in the affiliate area and once you get some revshare sales you will see how functional it is. You can track detailed history per member, details for a pay period, etc.

We feel this will make a nice addition and complement our high per sign up rates very well

Furious_Male 03-16-2006 09:50 PM

I like PPS the best. Stats Remote shows me that you gave me a huge raise. Thanks! :1orglaugh

Lol... Yep $40,000 per sign up for one day only :)

We have emailed stats remote to fix this as we updated our stats interface to include the revshare payouts and it didn't like it :)

travs 03-16-2006 10:06 PM

is revshare available for the Iframe ads?

Haven't added that yet but will by tommorrow

p.s. Iframe ads will have optional free chat within 7 days or so which should improve conversions for those

Furious_Female 03-17-2006 10:32 AM

Napolean coded a custom stats remote for our webcams.com stats and when I checked them last night, I was like WTF is that? haha... nice, as always :thumbsup

John Marco 03-18-2006 01:35 PM

Thanks guys.....

Some people love revshare, some love per sign up so we offer both :)
