Seafood.

Just thought I would share. I had some extra money in paypal so I decided to empty out my account. Figure since it is my birthday this month and all. So I just placed myself an order for the following.

10 pounds giant alaskan snow crab Legs.
10 pounds of red king crab legs.
about 2 pounds of small alaskan crab cakes (I like the small ones better)
4 pounds of smoked salmon.
about 8 ounces of salmon caviar. (fiance likes it)
6 reindeer sausages.
4 pound of scallops.
8 pounds of salmon steaks, (king, white, sockeye, silver).
4 pounds of alaskan spot shrimp.
2 pounds of halibut
2 pound of halibut cheeks.

Will ship on thursday and I will have it friday.
Most will go directly into the freezer aside from the some of the legs and some of the shrimp. This order should last me a few months in the seafood department.

What store did you order from that accepts paypal?

also 6 reindeer sausages sounds really interesting.

Syl 03-14-2006 07:36 PM

Wow, you must have a rather large freezer.

HorseShit 03-14-2006 07:37 PM

I really wish I liked seafood, it is good for you. Is there anyway I can train myself to like it or is it a lost cause?

www.fishermansexpress.com

The reindeer sausage is actually pretty damn good and I find it no where as greasy as beef sausage or the crap you get from hickory farms.

The crab is on sale right now too by the way. Well at least the red crab is.

I have one large chest freezer and 1 upright freezer in the garage plus the standard one that is in my side by side in the kitchen.

I have always needed the space since I have full cows butchered each year and need storage space, plus I shop at costco alot too.

Spunky 03-14-2006 07:40 PM

Discrimination!
Do you ship to Canada?

Well it is just about damn near impossible for most to get fresh king crab. Then as far as shrimp goes frozen is perfectly fine since they are almost always frozen right on the boat regardless if you buy them unfrozen or not in a store.

Raven 03-14-2006 07:46 PM

I repeat. When is the party you're throwing so we can help you get rid of the contents of your rather large and well stocked freezer?

I haven't had reindeer sausage in forever.

And, may I add, that it was very generous of you to share....:winkwink:

Not where I live.

Can get fresh everyday, but I do hear you, not everywhere is as blessed as the land Downunder.

Seafood generally is VERY healthy, it's the sauces you dip them in or cook them with that kill ya.

Congrats in advance on your next post BTW.

:thumbsup

I LOVE seafood! however i dont think it's as good when ya freeze it,you want to keep it fresh and then cook it right away, thats the best way to eat seafood. sometimes i'll get smoked lox and or salmon but thats about it.

tristan_D 03-15-2006 06:07 PM

As I stated before the vast majority of seafood is always frozen to begin with unless you happen to live within an hour or so from the ocean. Alot of the stuff that people buy as fresh arrived at the store frozen and the store just defrosted it.
I am fairly picky about my food. Most seafood is good to go frozen with the exception of lobster, clams, mussles, oysters, and some whole fish.

don't they have to specify that it was previously frozen or not? I always see a sign underneath the fish that says "previously frozen" ..I always buy my seafood at Whole foods which i think is the freshest and best tasting, have ya tried their seafood? also, theres a korean market that sells fresh fish and fillets it there in front of ya! damn,i'm gonna get some ahi tuna steaks for dinner tonite!
