                                              the reason I used to carry a handgun was because I worked night clubs and I was a manager of a retail store. For both jobs I had thousands of dollars in cash that I would have to take to the bank and deposit.

He was ducking or trying to get away from being shot. Also the guy ran up behind his car and shot at him. Guess that "protection" helped him

Not the type of think you go running around town with, so I think it's a bit different than owning a pistol.

                                                                                                                                                                                                      IMO, if you are really wanting a weapon for home defense, a 12 gauge is the only legit way to go. #1, you pretty much can't miss from 15 feet away. #2, you are unlikely to kill your neighbors by shooting through their wall.

                                                                                                                                                                                                      and #3, the sound of a shotgun being loaded would have to be one of the most terrifying noises you could hear if breaking into a house.
