To Breast Feed in Public or Not
 

I have just returned from a quick lunch with a friend of mine at a café. The table next to me there was a lady sitting there breast feeding her baby, whilst I am not against it, I did feel a little uncomfortable sitting right next her whilst she was doing that. What are your thoughts?

perfectly natural thing to do... my fiance breast fed in public. She didn't make a scene of it or anything, she covered up.
But it was never a big deal and other women breast feeding never bothered me.

I don't make it a habit of looking at someone I don't know while I'm eating anyway, so what she's doing at the time is of little concern to me.

I think its nice to see mums feeding their babys in public, I dont watch them doing it but I walk past and smile. Its such a natural and beautiful thing...

Breastfeeding is just as natural as taking a dump. Though i'd prefer to see bobs rather than guys taking a dump on the corner.
And yea once they got the tit out, shouldnt frown if your eyes happen to be gravitated...

Actually, I'll have to disagree - it's best to do it in your home - in your car - or if you're in public, have one of those specialty shirts that cover the breast up yet allowing the baby to breathe. Doing it in a washroom is not only hygienically disturbing, but I wouldn't be sitting for lunch next to a toilet bowl, much less feeding my child there.

if the baby needs to be breast fed stay home until it doesnt. it turns my stomach.

I don't want to drink any fluid that comes out of another human being and I don't want to see anyone else drink it either, babies included.

Some of you have issues... There is nothing wrong with it. Babies need to be fed all the time. Almost all of us were breast fed at one time. It's the healthiest thing for a baby to eat.

This makes sense especially if the baby is so hungry.

mmm it really doesnt botter me actually...I never even stopped to wonder if it was bottering me, I always saw it as something natural AND acceptable to do in public (notice the difference here with taking a shit..its not because its natrual that its ok to do in public...)...

It is very natural and while I sometimes feel a bit uncomfortable I understand that it is my problem and not the mother's as she is doing nothing wrong.

I don't see wrong in doing it in public. If they want to do it so let them.

Babies should be bottle fed.

The only reason one would feel "funny" is because we see breasts in a sexual way, when the purpose of breasts is to produce and store milk when a woman has a baby... Not to be fondled and sucked on while having sex. ;)

You do realize that I have had to satire this thread.

That is NOT natural. While there's nothing wrong with it, it's not what is best for your baby. Ask any doctor, mother or person with a shred of common sense and they'll tell you that it's much more preferable to breast feed a baby.

And get saggy tits..

I think folks should post if they're a parent or not along with their answer, although with some it's pretty obvious.

Parent -- and breast feeding is the only way to go. If my baby wants lunch then fuck anyone who has a problem with my wife's hot tits. She's discreet, but consider yourself lucky if you catch a glimpse.

I don't like looking at fat people when I eat, but I certainly wouldn't ask them to go eat in the bathroom.

What's the big deal? Most breastfeeding mothers I have known (and trust me I have known quite a few) use special shirts so that they are not exposing themselves anyway.

Breastfeeding is normal, natural and beautiful. I can't believe we are so uptight in this country as to consider something like that shameful and something to be hidden from view.

(and yes, my wife breast fed both our children)

My wife breast fed both of our kids. She also used a breast pump at HOME, so she wouldn't upset anyone by feeding in public.
