Adventures in Kidney Stones Part II
 

Alrighty, so here's a little update. I was fine all week without having to take any kind of drugs (well, the ER Dr. didn't give me any, so I didn't have a choice). Then Friday I was driving down the freeway and BAM. Something just felt like it was exploding in my back. I was about 30 minutes away from home, so I toughed it out the rest of the way home. I get home and tear apart the bathroom cabinet. Find some Toradol, which I heard the nurse say she was giving me on my prior visit. Take one....nothing after two hours, so I take another. Nothing after 5 hours, so I head back to the ER. Waited in the waiting room for 2 hours. This is after being a Level 3 Urgent patient. By that time I think the Toradol had finally kicked in. Get seen and he shows me my x-rays and the report. It's about 1cm from going into my bladder and is approx 3mm in diameter. Gave me a shot of Morphine and Gravol and gave me these four little "to go" Morphine pills. I've been pissing out little weird things that are caught in my wonderful little strainer. Not hard or anything, just little brownish redish matter.....I'm waiting until I hear that little PLOP into the strainer. I swear I will never drink soda again. Water and Juice for me.

Ive had Stones 4 times now. Ive changed my diet and it did nothing :(
You cant describe the pain but imagine getting kicked in the ballz with shooting pain up your back that doesnt go away. Those little strainers are funny, I've had them before.
My doctor told me I can drink anything that I can read through.. BEER! :)
Hope we dont see a Part III anytime soon.
