So I Just Got Surgery....

As some of you know, I have epilepsy ... well, I have had it for 15 years and I have generalized seizures. Well, the bitch of the whole thing is it should be controled with meds. Well, my stupid body rejects meds for some odd reason and I have horrible side effects, so today I went and got this implanted in hopes that it may better control my seizures:

I'm a little sore, a little out of it, and well just a little frazzled. : )

All the best Kristin:thumbsup :thumbsup Love J

BoyAlley 03-13-2006 01:07 PM

Damn you just got that done today, and you're already back on GFY?

Modern medicine is amazing.....

Here's to a speedy recovery.

pornguy 03-13-2006 01:10 PM

I hope that you did lots and lots of research on that before you had it done.

G-Rotica 03-13-2006 01:11 PM

Good luck with that. Seizures can be scary.

Thanks. It was outpatient, which was nice. Surgery was at 830a, had to check it at 630a. Procedure was about an hour. Univ. of CO is a really good epilepsy hospital ... so they had shit moving good there. I am in good spirits about the recovery of this. Hopefully things will work on this one. I hate sitting in a hospital afterwards, to me that makes the recovery worse ... I'd rather be surfing GFY in my pj's in the comfort of my own home. : )

Kimmykim 03-13-2006 01:12 PM

One of my close friends comes home from the hospital either today or tomorrow. She went in about five weeks ago, 3 weeks for some observation with electrodes, and then a surgery to remove some of the brain tissue that they think was causing her seizures.

This kind of thing is hard, good luck with it, kristin :)

Yikes, I can't imagine having implants in me. Hopefully it works better than the meds though.

The oddest thing to me is that I have to use magnets to turn this thing on.

sweetums 03-13-2006 01:16 PM

kristin, I hope this implant helps stabilize it and perhaps stop the seizures all together. Cheers on getting well fast!

FuqALot 03-13-2006 01:27 PM

The part where they put you to temporary sleep so you wont notice any of the surgery - that's the hard part, isn't it ?
