Creatine... the loading phase

Who here takes creatine to build muscle... and is the loading phase really neccessary, or just a way to get you to burn through tons of their product in the first couple weeks before you get sick of working out?

tony286 03-12-2006 11:07 AM

creatine is found in red meat - its not hard to get the same amount from eating red meat as it is to supplement your intake. i seriously doubt it caused a tumor.... furthermore, i am 100% sure that you cannot prove it.

bad things happen to good people. accept it and move on. you don't need to find something to blame to make sense of it.

it appears that he's on the juice, unless creatine causes rage and extreme defensiveness. :1orglaugh

i was simply addressing your comment. not too sure how that translates into "rage" or defensiveness. its been a long time since i used creatine but for bodybuilding, its has long since become a necessity. given its popularity and widespread use, the fact that its found in substantial quantities in red meat anyway and the fact that your body can only store a limited amount and pisses the excess out, i can't see how anyone could conclude that it gave someone a stomach tumor... without some specific evidence to support that conclusion... which of course, you can't offer any.

like i said, im not a doctor, i cannot tell you how HE came to that conclusion. If you like, i can get you his number and you can call him up and ask.

qwe 03-12-2006 11:55 AM

i took it before, and its a waste of money... you will be bloated, will gain 10 pounds, will have more strengh.. BUT once you stop taking it you will loose 95% of your gains... stick to eating 6-8 times a day, drink protein shakes, and hit gym 4-5times a week, and you dont need anything else

It's necessary to fill the creatine depots fully, take it with, for example, orangejuice (with sugar in it), loading phase=5 days
My recommendation is eat healthy, train and sleep well and be patient my friend, it takes a lot of time to develope a human body!
How do i know? I'am a fitnessinstructor :1orglaugh :1orglaugh

Well, there have been studies that show that going with a higher maintenence dose and cutting the loading phase has just about the same effect overall as the normal dosage with the loading phase. However, I would personally stick with the loading phase method. Also, if you add an effervescent (like alka selzer) to the creatine, it will more effectively absorb the creatine into your body. :2 cents:

poondaddy 03-12-2006 01:52 PM

I think I skipped the loading phase and just went straight to the normal doses. I gained 20 pounds taking it and just benching and curling. School started back up so I stopped using it and lost all 20 pounds in about 2 more weeks.

WarChild 03-12-2006 02:57 PM

I would ask Pornwolf, because he really knows his shit.

you retain more water. you gain water weight. your muscles are super hydrated. thats what it does while you are taking it. stop taking it and you lose that water. that does not mean you don't have a net muscle mass and strength gain in the end (assuming you have a good diet and good training plan).

you can't gain any real size in your arms and chest by just benching and doing curls either.

CyberHustler 03-12-2006 03:10 PM

fuck it... click my sig damnit!

buddyjuf 03-12-2006 03:10 PM

Ive heard stories of it giving alot of acne

Drake 03-12-2006 03:24 PM

Creatine has no known side effects

The Demon 03-12-2006 03:34 PM

When I was on my bulking phase I was taking NO2 and Cellmass, and yes they help increase the pump, harden the muscle, and give you more strength and muscle. I'm off of that stuff for the cutting phase so as soon as you get off, you will lose a lot of your water weight. It all depends on what you want to accomplish.
