Using the terms 'Uncle' and 'Auntie' as a sign of respect
 

Just wondering if in other countries do kids often call people 'Uncle' and 'Auntie' as a sign of respect?

All the adults down my road who werent family but were very close family friends my siter, my mates and I would address as Uncle or Auntie.

Is this just from where I am from?

Nope, we do it here too.

I love it as I only have one proper auntie, this way I have loads!

Seriously Victoria our 4 year old calls all adults Uncle or Aunty, except her grand parents.
