Lets say you walk into a car dealership and want to pay cash...
So you walk into a BMW dealership and offer to pay 100 000$ cash for your car.
Will they report you to the governmenmt? Or happily take your money and give you keys to an M6? Inquiring minds want to know! :thumbsup |
They only report you if you dont use a monte blanc to sign the deal
|
reported, for sure
|
Id say you were asking for trouble, im sure they would be far less suspicious of an electronic deposit. You need to find a crooked dealer who would be willing to handle a large amount of cash like that.
|
i believe anything over 9,999 is reported. i'm probably wrong though

You would probably catch someone's attention, if you know what I mean. |
Yes, they do report it. For any cash purchase of a vehicle. I did the same for my Acura when I bought it, it was a bit of hassle and all but it only takes a few minutes extra to process.

Actually, I'm not 100% positive but I believe you are correct. |
They may or may not, I would talk to the boss, give him extra few bucks and tell him you don't want it reported, I'm sure he would cooparate (or call fbi on your right away, lol)
|
Slip the manager a grand and tell him what you want
|
Money talks , well here in the US yo...... or the manager might call the popo on you

Yes they call. I bought my car cash from BMW and they did ..
|
it's so stupid how they monitor everything, it's none of their damn biz
|
What kind of idiot walks around with 100k in cash LOL!
You're just asking for trouble... DH |
Is it 10k cash only? or does 10k wire or 10k check apply to this reporting too?

A bunch of crazy politians have just made a new law in Denmark, which makes it illegal to spend more than $15500 cash - and it would not surprise me, if the rest of the EU countries are working on a similar fucked up law :helpme
Oh, and their reason is that terrorists use large amounts of cash... Yeah, I can just see how this will put an end to terrorism :1orglaugh |

I dont get it.. if you get audited.. don't they look up for your possessions like houses, cars.. etc..? and then ask how you paid for it?
|
I have a very good friend is the business manager of a very large dealership in Vancouver Canada.
Interestingly, car dealerships are not bound by the same laws as banks. You can bring cash, or wire them huge sums, and they're not obligated to report it. I personally wires $30,000 as the down payment on my corvette, hassle free. |
i think you'll be fine, as long as you've been paying your taxes

Sperminator is correct, unfortunately anything over $9,999 is DEFINITELY reported by a dealership.

The stores said "please, just let us report large cash payments like the banks do", however the politicians turned that offer down. So now you are committing a crime, if you pay or receive cash payments over $15500 :Oh crap |
not a good idea to pay cash
|
If your penis is truely so small that you would consider doing this, skip buying the M6 and elect for the enhancement surgery.
|
even if you buy it off someone who isnt a dealer, ive heard that they go as far as checking the records at the dmv/secretary of state sometimes.
|
If you aren't doing anything wrong, who cares. Just do it and tell people to fuck off later. If you aren't doing anything wrong, nothing they can do.

Give them cash, they have to report it. |
bdjufffffff i love you !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Actually, every transaction over $10k has to be reported - as a bank we had to have them fill documents of where the money came from for the RCMP. This means that the dealer will have to sign and report where this money came from.
Also, even if you deposit $2k a day for 5 days & it's not something usual, it has to be reported. Anything that is unusual, they have a right to ask you to sign the document for the RCMP. *This is for Canada at least* |

This is obviously fantasy Land, you cant get an M6 for 100k. The M5 with decent options comes to 100k and that is with hookups like crazy.
THe m6 is rumored to come out the gates at 115k + and you will have to pay way over MSRP to pick it up anytime this century. |

Same deal in AU, when I was buying my car recently he said I can pay with $10k+ cash, but it would have to be reported.
Are you doing something shifty or are you just throwing around the $100k cash concept for wank value? |
If you are trying to hide money from the canadian goverment good luck. All they have to do is come here and look over your posts and they also know what you look like.
