Adobe bought Macromedia?
I was at the macromedia site today and saw the little adobe icon on top, next to the "formerly macromedia" text. Wow! I must've been living in a bubble....
Anyway, what do you think, is this good or bad? I think it's good because now we can expect even superior development tools, but the prices may skyrocket |
about a year ago or so

Yep. Long while back.
|
Yeah, they bought them a while ago.
|
Also, Autodesk bought Discreet (3DS MAX) AND Alias (MAYA).
|
I was working in an office doing ColdFusion development a couple weeks ago and the lead CF programmer had a spaz when he saw the Adobe logo on the site and thought it was breaking news I was like fuckin hell your career is developing their products and you didn't know. Fucksakes.

I dont know if it's good. We are a macromedia alliance partner and now we're an Adobe alliance partner.
Personally I only hope that they will change the license prices because for some products they're very expensive. We will see what the future might bring us ... |

Only last night, I was discussing the prices of some of these "suites" with my wife -- there was one that was like $1,200 -- :Oh crap
:winkwink: 2hp |
yeah, happened a while ago but I think they just started bundling adobe & macromedia products with the releases of Adobe C2 and Macromedia Studio 8 - Im assuming that the next major updates will be under the adobe name. does anyone know if this is true?
|
So... exactly how long have you been living under a rock?
|
