Photos of why I was absent - why some races should not mix.
You know I've been called a bitch from time to time. But it comes from often being the only person with a brain. And some days, with my husband it becomes very evident that I'm the one doing the thinking in our home.
He is 1/2 Acadien (French Canadien from the maritimes) and 1/2 Italian. But raised mostly in Newfoundland.... That means he has the courage of a wop with the "can't tell him shit" attitude of the frog. And the added, no common sense of a Newfie and you get the below. It was his damn brilliant idea to go to sea in February. So we ended up almost shipwrecked in the mediterrain. Sorry I don't have more shots but I ended bailing water for close to 15 hours before we were rescued. There was just too much happening to worry about getting photos. Ok... So I found the flash card in my pocket and got pissed off again. Needed to vent my hostility.... Safety tip: "Never let a Newfie buy a boat." http://www.kokoom.com/madameks/IMG_1756.jpg http://www.kokoom.com/madameks/IMG_1767.jpg http://www.kokoom.com/madameks/IMG_1761.jpg |
So, why'd you marry him in the first place? To much scroggin' and not enough talkin' is usually how this happens. ;)

In his defense... Insurance is covering the cost of the boat. I'm sure we will come out ahead of it. I just can't get over how damn scared I was or how psycho he was yelling orders at me. But I guess since he is the experienced sailor I shouldn't complain because he kept the boat floating until help arrived. Say anything you want about Newfies... But they all know how to sail. Just don't have the common sense of when they should or shouldn't. |

But on the other hand... We would never have been there if he had the common sense of cabbage. Quote:
Both of us are ok. Like I said, we were rescued. And I got to watch that boat sink to the bottom of the med. |

He said, "Lets take the boat for a spin on the med." And considering we once sailed up from Florida to Newfoundland in February. I didn't think too much about it. My husband really is a good sailor. We got out into the middle of the mediterrain and the weather got really bad. It all happen real quick! Started getting tossed back and forth. Water kept comming in faster than the pumps could handle. Part of our deck was damaged from the mast being ripped out. 15 hours later when the weather cleared we were rescued by a cargo ship and finally let our boat sink. And it was a good thing they showed up too! We were exhausted and it was only our hard work that kept it from sinking. Because once we stopped, I guess it went under in less than 3 minutes. Quote:

You know you're lucky because in the midst of all that fighting to keep from drowning I actually decided to stop and take photos. I think all those shots will make great christmas cards this year. Give me your address and I'll send you one. The only photos I got were on the flash card that was in my pocket. And that was before the giant waves hit us. My camera is now being used by a school.... A school of fish. |
wow, consider yourself lucky
