Looking for a job
 

Ok guys, here I go again...

I'm down to the wire...im graduating from college in 2 weeks. I have been running small AVS sites, posting to TGP's and have a basic knowledge of how this industry works. I say "basic" because this industry changes day to day.

Here is my part. I am looking for a job. I know basic HTML, and basic internet knowledge. I have built a few small sites non-adult related as well as a few adult sites. I know how to integrate merchant accounts, and cgi-scripts. I know a little bit of everything, and I am willing to learn more about any topic.

I am a very dedicated worker. I am very smart, quick learner. I have a lot of experience working with business. I started a small advertising business at my college, employed students to help with promoting and advertising local businesses in which I ran a profitable business. I also purchased a domain name 2 years ago which was University's name with a dot com, instead of a .edu, and worked out a deal for $20,000. I got 20 grand because I would have been able to win in arbitration. I studied CIS, Cyber-Space Law and Policy, Finance, I have a basic all around knowledge. I have great people skills, I know how to talk well with people, and delegate authority. I am graduating with over a 3.0 in Business Administration at one of the best Business Schools in NJ.

I need a job that has potential. I love to be my own boss, but I realize that I am still young 22 years old. I wanted to know if anyone has any jobs available. I am in the Princeton area and would be willing to set up interviews, or phone interviews.
I am looking for a job in which my knowledge and opinions are wanted. I feel I am very capable of handling any situation.

If you have all of those qualities and experience, why are you looking for a job here? Something sounds odd...

what kind of degree do you have at 22? associates, or a bachelors?

I am looking for a job here because I do not want to go into the corporate world. I am not looking for a job in which I sit behind a desk with a tie working 9-5. I want to have a job in which I can control my own destiny rather than having an employee number, working 40 years with the same company. Many adult website owners are entrepreneurs and who are in control of their lives. (except maybe spacedog) I want to go into a business with people who have the same aspirations as I do.

Something here sounds odd. You are contradicting your first post with the above. You said you would like a job, but now you say that you don't want to work 9-5 and you want to be an entrepreneur. Isn't an entrepreneur works by himself, for himself? Then why are you looking for a job if you want to be self-employed?

Sometimes people have the qualities, but not the actual field experience...this isn't a bad thing...not everyone who is in this business is going to create a 20-30-40K per month income (most won't make that per year) so there is nothing wrong with being part of a team.,...Wizzo works for Lensman, does that make Wizzo of no value when he probably makes more than 70% of this board combined? Hell no...there are some great guys that work for Lensman and probably could make it on their own, but why not work with some security and probably a nice chunk of cash....and nothing wrong with getting paid while gaining field experience......

if you want to hire him, then just give him a call like he asked, find out more about his qualifications...if he is bullshitting, post here and we will rip him to shreds...But I doubt that is the case here.

actually, my brother is still alive....he is making a mainstream sitre for a client....so he doesnt have much time for posting right now.....but site should be done soon, so im sure hell start posting again soon.

You seem extremely intelligent, definitely above the norm. You should have faith in yourself and start your own business. You've done this before, it's not hard. When you have done everything that you have at 22, it should not be hard for you to sell yourself and your ideas to other people. That way you can have several people to carry out your dirty work. At the very least you could have several students making tons avs sites for you. There's thousands of other things you can do that will make way more money than you've ever dreamed. I started my own biz that made major coin when I was 18. Age is not a factor!

In short, you're a smart dude. Smart people bet on themselves.

Thanks for the words of wisdom guys...I am looking here at GFY for many reasons. First off, almost every single one of you are entrepreneurs and are your own boss...You all have put in the effort to try to profit off the the adult industry. I want to work with people that have the same goals. By posting here, I will reach people that I want to work with.

I said I didnt want to work a 9-5 office job, but myself and many other people know that being your own boss requires a lot more than 40 hours a week, which I would not mind working. There is nothing more rewarding than having a job that you like. I could go get a corporate job making $40 grand my first year, working with assholes I dont like. Atleast here I could work with assholes that I do like :)

By posting here, I have a direct audience of business owners that control a large market of adult related websites.

As for the people bashing on me. I am a lot smarter than many of you presume. In this business it is obvious who does well...the ones that offer help are the ones that make a nice buck, while the ones who do the bashing are bashing for a reason...

I work a few hours a day for someone else because i like to, its guaranteed i make at least 500 a week. and i dont have to use my brain. what more could a man ask for.

In a few months i will have opened my own restaurant. everyones invited and i will be wearing my mafiaporn tshirt (right snow :thumbsup )

the reason people give you a hard time is simply because you have to look at the name of the board.

So to be successful at what you do, first figure out what it is you do best, and then do it yourself, setbacks in life happen, but those who fail, invite failure
