BondCon & memories of 9-11 [PICS]
 

We were goin' through the archives earlier today lookin' for an old photoshoot, and stumbled on pics we'd shot at the first BondCon show (bondage webmaster convention) held in Queens, NY just days after the Sept 11th terrorist attacks across the river at WTC.

The smoke was still rising from the WTC rubble during the convention, and the entire weekend was a very surrealistic event. It was held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel (across from LaGuardia). That same weekend during the convention, the hotel also held a black-tie formal to honor the firefighters who died during the WTC collapse. So on one side of the hotel we had hundreds of bondage & fetish producers and models...while on the other side we had firefighters and dignitaries wearin' tuxedos. It was so odd.

Towards the end of the evening many of the firefighters wandered in to the Bondcon and mingled with many of the bondage models. As it turned out, the entire evening had helped take their minds off the terrible tragedy for a few brief moments - and many expressed gratitude and appreciation for the convention being held despite the circumstances.

It was also our first time exhibiting - and we also participated in some of the on-stage shows during the 3-day event.
