Epassporte & Taxes.

Anonymous poll.

Are webmasters planing on not reporting money received via epassporte as income?

designerotica 03-10-2006 03:31 PM

If uncle sam sat down and made gallery template or tour design I would be less reluctant to fork over my hard earned cash.

polish_aristocrat 03-10-2006 03:32 PM

quite sure many ppl dont pay taxes on it

polish_aristocrat 03-10-2006 03:33 PM

actually, considering the average IQ level here is 95 - you should have made the poll more easy

"do you pay taxes on money received throguh epassporte - YES or NO"

Jarmusch 03-10-2006 03:33 PM

Don't sponsors report what they pay you if you live in the US? I guess you can get away with it if you live overseas.

I promote over 20 sponsors that I have earned at least 600.00 with last year. Take a wild guess how many sent me my required paperwork?

flashfire 03-10-2006 03:37 PM

you guys trust epass enough to leave large amounts of money in there?

I got a whopping 1.

Yup a full 1 out of 20 that I have gotten paid at least 600.00 with. Still reporting everything and each of them but damn it makes me nervous about this biz.

Or Canada....cough cough...sorry wrong thread. What was i doing in here.

Tat2Jr 03-10-2006 05:10 PM

1 out of 20???? If they're US based, they need to fire their CPAs.

Just for my affiliates info.... Niche Money reports all income/expenses down to the dime, so if ya get a 1099 from us... you'll probably not wanna try and get one over on uncle sam.

xclusive 03-10-2006 05:17 PM

i'm going to report it with 2 kids and another on the way no way i'm fucking with uncle sam

fuck taxes

WiredGuy 03-10-2006 05:48 PM

You people need to stop depending on someone else to do your tax work. Do it yourselves, you run businesses, you think Microsoft goes around to their clients asking how much you paid us this year??

sperbonzo 03-10-2006 05:55 PM

I"m sure that no one here would cheat on their taxes. After all, aren't most of these people anti-bush liberals? They will all want to pay as much taxes as possible right? They are against tax cuts and want more people to pay more.

They wouldn't try to hide taxes, that would be hypocritical, and we all know that liberals are never hypocrites, right?

lacuna 03-10-2006 05:57 PM

1099

Over $600 USD and you'll get a 1099 if you're in the US

In theory, apparently. :)

s9ann0 03-10-2006 06:56 PM

if you did plan on not reporting your income on it theres no reason to worry, government would never be interested in pulling visa records for a paypal type service predominantly used by adult webmasters to withdraw cash and such

Yeah I noticed that as well. One day people will learn.

That said, I fucking hate the State of California tax. Federal I can deal with but fuck this is ruthless.

No. Why leave it there?

I have to say yes and no
yes I claim the money earned from sales, but I don't claim the money I win from contests.

Sure, if the SS#'s you got are even accurate or the rest of the webmaster info for that matter.

epass isn't US based and there are ATM withdrawls.

I'm guessing VERY FEW Americans report CASH earnings.

I don't use epass, I get wires. but if I was still small enough to need epass, I wouldn't report a dime of it!
