Winners Of The Silk Playboy Robe Contest
After much deliberation we have picked the winners of the Silk Playboy Robe from the "Here's your chance, How would you run Playboy" thread, http://www.gofuckyourself.com/showthread.php?t=524898 I apologize about the delay in the decision, but there were hundreds of excellent, well thought out ideas and it took me a long time to sift through them picking the best of the best. If your post was chosen as a winner, please contact Loryn at [email protected] with your shipping info and your robe will be sent out ASAP.
And the winners are...

#2 continue branding the playboy logo onto purses, shirts, etc., fuck even have a traveling tatoo bus that gives free playboy tatoo's...thats lifetime advertising into the next century with a cookie cutter template
#3 start throwing more events outside, re-connect with the reader....everyone wants to be in heff's mansion, why not throw montly parties accross the east/west coast, high cover charge, scantly clad women, for a small taste of what you get at the mansion
#4 Tour bus, just like the tropicana girls for the montly parties.
#5 Get with the times, everyone i know (even not in adult) knows what bukkake is, start slangin some humor in the mag targeted to real pervs.
#6 Keep up the quality, its one thing playboys had since day #1, although airbrushing is frowned upon, it has a certain mystique.
Well thats about it brother.

The first problem is Playboy needs to market to it's webmasters. If affiliates can't say "Playboy", "Playboy Bunny", or "Playmate" and use them on their sites, well, it's all pretty much pointless.
The very first domain name I typed in when I got on line was playboy.com. A quick look at playboy.com just now and I have no idea what's going on. While I see a lot of beautiful women on page and a place to sign up to get a subscription to the mag, I'm not a seeing a signup link to sign up for the site itself. It seems to me like playboy.com is more interesting in sellng the mag online than a website. Playboy has some fifty years of content in the bag; Is it on line? Can surfers sign up to see an online version of their mag?
Playboy has a ton of content. Playmates don't suddenly pop up and become Platemates a month later. Chances are by the time they get to be a monthly platemate they might have shot for Playboy a dozen or so times. Why not open up a site for each Playmate each month? Make Playboy.com have everything the mag does plus archives and sell it for $39 a month; Also have "solo girl" sites for each playmate.
I could go on if anyone is listening.

Anyways you could make the affiliate program 1000% better.... Each Playmate from 1954 to today has over 100-200 images and a huge centerfold image- why not give affiliates access to some of these higher quality images? Right now all i see is 300x500 pixel crap like this.
Why not give affiliates atleast 16 resized images of each Playmate (over 600 playmates) or atleast content from the thousands of weekly Playboy Cyber Girls? I was just in Las Vegas last week, i saw a group of 20 cyber girls walking around TI, these girls are fucking hot! Let us promote them too!
Surfers dont know how big the Playboy database is -let the affiliates show them! And with your crappy affiliate tools they also do not know the quality and detail of the content Playboy publishes online. I remember back in the day, collecting Playboy scans and the Playboy archive was very addicting. It wasnt like downloading porn, it was more like downloading a collection - kinda like collecting cards. You guys need to bring that feeling back and once that occurs not only will people signup by the masses, but they'll rebill like crazy. One could spend months trying to find every picture of every playmate and every new month brings a new playmate which adds to the collection and challenge.
Each Playmate has a large following, so why not let affiliates promote each one individually?
Then there's also the extensive Playboy video collection which you guys arent even touching. You guys have so much content and you arent even using any of it. I have no clue how big the Playboy affiliate program is now, but i know it could be a hell of a lot bigger and profitable!!! Whats going on? Is Hue not giving you the ability to use alot of the content for promotion?

6.) Have webmasters promote the playmates archive.
It's also a great way to upsell playboy.com within the members area AND to sell older copies of the magazine. Include a "buy this copy" link with every playmate and sell it for a higher price than you can buy playboy in store (the older the playmate, the higher the price).
I know this will work because there are countless of Playboy fans and men who collect the magazine for the sake of collecting it.

Think about it this way.. How much is a playboy magazine off the shelf in a store $7-10? If you can charge $35-50 per month for an online subscription you will make much more per customer. If there is a ridiculous amount of content on the playboy site there will be little reason for the member to leave. I completely agree with KRL that the magazine and online property needs to stay classy, because that is what Playboy is all about (it's not hustler). Playboy.com should do promotions thru the magazine to encourage readers to visit the online portal (maybe contests and giveaways would attract them).
I personally think if the magazine and .com worked closer together and worked hard in conjunction things could really EXPLODE! :)

P.S. Lens I'll quit GTS anytime to come work as your marketing manager, you can throw me in the monkey cages at the playboy mansion to sleep!

#2. Branded night clubs.
Vivid is proof that an adult themed company can have a successful night club.
#3. Branded strip clubs.
What better way to put a stamp of approval on a stripper, than having her strip at a Playboy strip club?
#4. Playboy concert series.
Endorse some of the hottest bands on a 3 month tour, with playmates at every entrance handing out memorabillia, signed objects and much more. Brand the screens between sets with Playboy promos, url's, etc. Have the bands introduced by Playmates.
#5. A Playboy record label.
What better way to market to the majority of Americans, then to put the mark on what they hear.
#6. Energy drinks, Vodka's, wines etc.
Playboy is the it thing for the nightlife crowd. Imagine a high quality brand of Spirits. Club goers would have to be seen with it.
