How Old Were You When You Realized You Were An Asshole?
 

I think growing up is measured by realizing just how much an asshole you can become.

Then one day you have an epiphany, usually after the aftermath of a major fuckup on your part and you realize how it wouldn't have been that way had you not been an asshole.

Asshole= crazy or unable to see a good thing for what it is.

Only a small man can't self-depricate...so I'll take the plunge with this one and say 29.

And my epiphany was largely due to the intervention of a very dear friend.

I'm bringing this up because the other day I realized I was doing something very destructive and stupid to myself and not taking responsibility for it. Totally under my level of consciousness and somehow broke through. Caught it just in time. Luckily I had enough discipline in other areas where I can recover from it. Sometimes what you believe is not what's good for you. There's what you 'want' to be true and what 'is' true. Sometimes they're totally different.

She should have told you to fix your 'add your link' page.

What happens is when we want to add YOUR link code on our sites and then put in the recip page info on YOUR site, YOUR site comes up with an error saying it can't find www.xfactoryonline.com on OUR sites.

That's because YOUR code doesn't have the 'www' only the http://xfactoryonline.com

So if you're having problems getting recips you now know why.

I'm really learning alot about myself looking back at all the fuckups I created from being an asshole at that time. I may have thought I was doing the right thing but the bottom line is was it more destructive to myself or not. Thank goodness it was never from being wasted. I don't know but I've never done anything dumb when I used to get wasted. Only fucked up when I was straight and sober and self righteous.

When I turned 21, I realized I was an asshole and needed to make some changes. I still slip every once in awhile, but now I can realize what I'm doing and don't have that assholish pride to get in the way of a sincere apology.

There you go. That's called being mature enough to accept the responsibility and sanity you need to have.

Sometimes our own arrogance can get in the way. Sometimes the bullshit other people feed you that you swallow gets in the way. Having the wisdom and strength to rise above it all and see the right path is what's really valuable. You young guys have alot ahead of you if you keep that in mind. If we don't blow up the world or some other dumbass thing, it'll be worth it all as there will be new wonders and technologies ahead. Maybe one day some bright guy will figure out what is really wrong with humanity and come up with a cure.
