it's not a pleasent experience, atleast they knock you out now a days for the procedure... the worst part is the shit you have to drink the day before your not gonna be able to leave the house, your gonna need to be as close to the toilet as possible for a while it flushes you out

I've had one... the procedure isn't that bad... just relax and think happy thoughts when they slide that long slender "thingy" up your butt. The more relaxed you are, the easier it slides and the less discomfort you'll experience. It's mildly uncomfortable (I got all crampy) but it doesn't take too long.

The actual scoping part isn't that bad. they have a lovely vacuum tool that prevent pressure build-up. its the cleansing portion before the procedure thats a real joy.

make sure you get the gerbils out first
